#056 - april 2026 TTRPG newsletter
Call of Cthulhu, D&D 5E, Shadowdark, Elric
Lots of ttrpg sessions this month with no less than 6!
What’s new at my gaming table?
We managed to have two sessions of the Rise of the Drows campaign for D&D 5E (2014) where I am a player. Still tracking drows in a forest, we had a lot of fights but on the same time, they strengthen the party as we are now 4th level. Did I tell you I play a halfling rogue ? A cold blooded assassin of course!
I played the fourth part of a Call of Cthulhu mini-campaign still deep inside a coal mine. We found the remains of fugitives but also more strange (prehistoric?) creatures parts…
And this month I could master three sessions of my Shadowdark open-table game. A small but mysterious valley has been (almost?) totally explored and some treasure has been brought back to the Fort where the parties are located. We’ll see soon where the players now decide to go.
Readings
Still in the Elric series, I have finished both volume 3 and 4, this last one is called The Weird of the White Wolf (in a surprising way, it is titled Elric the necromancer in french if I translate back!). Not my favorite, but it was a short one, so…
Movies/series
I finished season 2 of Fallout, which I found enjoyable, even if a bit slow for my taste, and then, without any apparent logic, I started watching a little-known series called The Queen’s Gambit. I’m joking, of course, because I’d heard a lot about it when it came out and it hadn’t really interested me. This time, I decided to watch the first episode and ended up watching all seven. Pretty fun and not boring as I feared at first.
Creations, tips, shop…
Last month, I relaunched my Patreon page and have been active on it, with public, free members and of course patrons stuff. My latest releases are mostly hand drawn dungeon and cave maps. Here is a low resolution teaser!
I also published Maze of the Medusa, a two-floors dungeon in a ‘realistic’ way made with the Dungeon Alchemist software. One map is a ruined temple while below there is a cave system being the lair of the infamous monster (and more). This map can also be found on DriveThruRPG.
