The start of the year has been a bit disrupted by a lot of professional activity and a nasty virus that has kept me busy, which has inevitably had an impact on my hobbies, especially role-playing.
What's new at my gaming table?
A single game this month, still as Game Master with the Mythras system (ex-Runequest 6). We continue the adventures of (naive) warrior Makt and (understanding) priest Pretoriann in the back streets of the city-state of Bernheim, in search of their families.
Next month should be more active, with tentacles on the agenda and Onos the cafe-keeper at the gaming table! And then I'm preparing a Greyhawk mini-campaign with the AD&D system. All this is happening on the ‘Dungeons & Tentacles’ Discord, so come and join us!
Latest articles published on the blog
As always, my posts are written in french but there is a translation widget on the blog
Three articles were published in January. In addition to my now traditional "annual report", which looks back on the year 2023, I've finally published level 9 of my mega-dungeon, a project I'm not abandoning despite last year's backlog.
I'm also continuing to summarize my D&D campaign, Adventures in Phandalin, this time with sessions 28 to 35 (remember, we finished at the 67th!). We've been getting away from the contents of the initiation kits for some time now, though, as you'll read in the next episode with a return to Phandalin.
Readings and inspirations
Reading: a single read for January with volume 3 of Les Mondes-Miroirs, les Rues de Mirinèce, by Vincent Mondiot, after re-reading the first last month.
Video games: I'm quietly pursuing the Baldur's Gate 3 quests, but also the Assassin's Creed Origins quests in Ancient Egypt, which I've installed and am enjoying.
TV series: I finished season 4 of The Expanse and watched the next one right away. It's a bit long, but the characters are always endearing. Soon to come to an end with the sixth and final season! And I'm gleaning ideas for future SF RPG games.
Creations, tips, shop…
Publications of the month
This month, I've created a map entitled Oriental Baths, available on DrivethruRPG and soon on Ko-fi. 4 variants, 6 screenshots and several scenario hooks are provided in this pack.
Current projects
I'm planning to publish the 10th level of the megadungeon and have already created two battlemaps for February!
