I hope that the new school year was good, here are the latest news of my activities!
Latest articles published on the blog
I published two articles since the last newsletter, they are game aids. I designed the first one, a Medieval-Fantasy Universe Generator and I discovered the second one on a website, a NPC Generator : DMHeroes.
I like to share useful websites I can find on the web, did you know this one ?
What's new at my gaming table?
It's sometimes hard to juggle schedules and real life sometimes reminds us of ourselves, so I've only played one game of RPG this fortnight. My D&D campaign, Adventures in Phandalin, continues on the Sword Coast. After taking their revenge on brigands, the adventurers head into the sinister Mere of the Dead where quicksand and giant alligators await them. But these are not the worst dangers!
When I have a little time, I reread the Traveller, Mythras and Call of Cthulhu rules for a change from D&D. But when will have time to play it?
Readings and inspirations
I finally finished the novel Star Wars: Ronin, and found it very disappointing because it was too soft and talkative despite a good idea (a Japanese Star Wars in an alternative universe).
In RPG, issue 16 of the monthly fanzine D12 is dedicated to weapons. It talks about "natural" weapons (including those made with monster body parts, like the rusty monster antenna whip, or undead!). Unusual, improvised, shielded or specialized weapons, hidden or blessed... there's something for everyone and the zine also includes NPCs to use in any campaign. A good issue.
Finally, I bought (at last!) the Volo's Guide to Monsters before it was taken off the shelves. It was mentioned in my article about the last Mordenkainen.
