Welcome to this first issue of my free bi-monthly tabletop rpg newsletter. Here you will find informations on my sessions preps, what I read for inspiration, my latest blog posts and the scenarios I’m working on for free or paid releases.
Please note that my posts and adventures are in french, my native language, but I’m open to publish english versions if I have enough positive feedback, so you know what you have to do!
Latest blog posts
Only one blog post at the moment for the month of march, with a premium scenario only open to subscribers on Patreon or people buying it on uTip or itch. I’m still looking for the right way to get to you guys, so let me know what platform you prefer for this kind of content by commenting below (most of my stuff still remains free, of course).
This little adventure is called The Temple of the Skull and starts a series of four interlinked modules.
Coming in a few days is my review of the ‘Guide de Fondcombe’ which is the french translation of the Rivendell Region Guide for Adventures of Middle Earth, the 5E declinaison of The One Ring RPG. It is no more available in english as new but the translation is still on its way in french due to different legal stuff.
Then I’ll speak to you of the french ‘MEGA’ TTRPG and later on, a free One Page Dungeon is going to be released.

My games of the month
I did play a lot this first half of the month : 4 games on FoundryVTT, all of them mastered by myself.
My campaign for D&D5 is titled Adventures in Phandalin and we played sessions 20 and 21. One of the players had to leave so he was replaced by a player I already knew (I mastered a 26-long campaign last year with him). Wave Echo Cave has finally been explored and the Black Spider was ultimately killed (with acid splash all over the room!). You can have a look at the article I wrote about mixing the content of the 2 beginners kits in and around Phandalin.
My other campaign is titled Adventures in Eriador and is played with the Adventures in Middle Earth rules. In sessions 4 and 5, the party has been chased by a large band of orcs in the Trollshaws and is now safe in Rivendell. Master Elrond seems to have missions for the adventurers and they have to begin by exploring a long lost ruin of the former Rhudaur kingdom.
Readings and inspirations
I’m delving into the Forgotten Realms lore to prepare the next adventures of my campaign in Phandalin (which is likely to have the party reach level 6).
The website Forgotten Realms Wiki is of great help even if a lot of regional informations is coming from former editions of D&D, like AD&D, or from deeply loved magazines Dragon or Dungeon. There is also a need to look for the informations in 5E (Princes of the Apocalypse, Storm King’s Thunder and Hoard of the Dragon Queen mainly, and of course Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide). I’d like to see Wizards of the Coast release a full sourcebook instead of having to crosscheck everything! Anyway, the campaign is likely to remain in the vincinity of Leilon and the Dessarin valley, as I have enough content to play with.
For Adventures in Eriador, I find that the Rivendell Region Guide lacks of scenario hooks so I am looking for the Lord of the Rings Online quests. They are supposed to happen 70 years later but most of them are so generic that they can be used at the time of my campaign.
I saw that a new (one more!) starter kit for D&D has been spotted, called Dragons Of Stormwreck Isle. The final price and content has to be confirmed but it seems this time that a blue dragon is the final boss! (or maybe more than one because there is a S at DragonS in the title)
One important thing is the release of the test rules of Unearthed Arcana with the Heroes of Krynn. I did not read them fully yet but they are a sign that something Dragonlance-related is on its way (time to watch my Youtube video on the subject!).
My readings lead me to the D12 monthly magazine with a soon-to-be released number 10 issue (each issue is on a different theme for D&D, February being about the dragons). Play aids, scenarios, new or revamped monsters… and it’s free so why not enjoy ?
